Personalized Business Birthday Cards

If you are going to have success in business, you will need to build and maintain relationships with your clients and suppliers. That is true regardless of the sort of business you are in – it is absolutely critical that you make sure that those with whom you do business feel that you are working to build and maintain a relationship for the long term. That is why you need to buy and send personalized corporate greeting cards.

Such greeting cards can be sent out on any number of occasions. We all know that sending greeting cards is a custom associated with certain holidays – Christmas being the most obvious example. However, birthday cards are in some ways even more important, because the card tells the person that receives it that you have made an effort to learn about them as an individual and express your warm wishes for them on that special day. If you select the appropriate card, duly personalized with your business name, you will invariably earn some good will for your business.

birthdaycard.jpg

I don’t know about you, but I rather like this card. Why? Because I’ve never met anyone who can resist smiling when they see balloons. And besides, unless you are sending a package along it just seems to be wrong o have one with packages all over it – but balloons communicate the joy of the celebration, and bring back positive memories of our childhood years.

Credit Cards Club

As you know, I teach social studies, which means I end up dealing a lot with issues of economics, including consumer economics type issues like wages, taxes, and getting credit. One of the things I often tell my students is that they should be smart when dealing with credit issues -- after all, failure to do so can cause serious personal problems for years to come. And i tell them that they particularly need to make sure they pick a credit card responsibly, finding one that suits their needs and ability to pay.

One great site that can help consumers with that can be found at CreditCardsClub.com, where they offer great credit card reviews regarding different cards and offers that are available to consumers. Seriously, if you are in teh market for a first card or a new card, they are a good place to check out for information.

Help A Family Win A Home Makeover

Are you one of those folks who feels like your home is in need of a home makeover? Do you have at least one room that needs to be done over – and maybe an entire house? You may be, because most Americans can point to some part of their house that isn’t quite up to par in their eyes, either because is stylistically out of date or in need of serious fixing up. Of course, some are definitely in greater need than others. I know that we still have linoleum in our kitchene that dates back to the Carter administration, and could certainly stand to replace some of the appliances, get a new countertop and reface the cabinets in an effort to move into the twenty-first century. Minor stuff, to be sure, compared with what some other folks need to have done, but major to my wife and I. After all, there are some folks whose homes are in much more serious need of work because of problems that are really safety hazards.

Now I have talked a couple of times about the Renuzit TriScents “Transform Your Home with Tanya Memme” contest Well, they have picked their semi-finalists, and you can vote on who you think deserves the $20,000 home makeover. Visit the semi-finalist gallery to vote for your choice between now and June 7, 2008.

house.jpg

My vote went to this home. It isnÂ’t just the picture, but the story that goes along with it that moved me to do so. Winning the contest would go a long way to helping improve the lives of a family that is clearly down on their luck.

Your Rental Car Advantage

I don't rent a car very often -- simply because I don't travel extensively. That said, I have had to rent cars several times in the last few months, due to travel related to a family illness and death, as well as because of an extended time without my car while it was in the shop following vandalism at school. I dealt with a different company each time, and I found one that I would go back to any time -- Advantage Rent A Car. Comparing price and service to the better known companies, I was favorably impressed -- and the customer service was better, too. And let's not forget their special offers that can save you cash or upgrade you to a bigger vehicle. So if you need a rental car, why don't you check out the car rental site where the customer has an Advantage!

Apples of Gold

Be honest, folks -- who doesn't like gold? Most men and women I know have some attachment to that precious metal, and own at least one piece of gold jewelry, if not more than one. And I know many of my students -- especially, but not exclusively, the girls -- like to adorn themselves with lots of "bling" in the form of gold bracelets and gold chains!

It's no surprise, then, that as we approach Mother's Day we find lots of folks thinking in terms of gold jewelry for their mother. And that is where Apples of Gold can help you out.

Why Apples of Gold? Because of the wide selection of beautiful pieces of jewelry you can find displayed on their website. The details visible in these pictures are simply amazing, popping right out at you.

And for those on a budget, there is a generous “jewelry under $100″ section that allows you to get beautiful pieces at a bargain price! Not that the rest of the products are outrageous -- all the items are reasonably priced, so you can afford a gorgeous gift for yourself or someone you love, like your mother.

Another great thing about Apples of Gold is the level of customer satisfaction. I've looked, and I haven't found anything but praise from their customers -- and you know that any serious complaints would make their way around the internet. You just can't beat that, either.

So for your jewelry needs, drop by ApplesOfGold.com. I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

Stylish Design

One of the things I’ve been concerned about as I begin the process of transitioning to a new blog platform (hopefully before the end of the month) is how to make greater and more effective use of my site’s potential for generating revenue through the placement of advertising. I’ve been participating in Google’s AdWords program for some time, but just haven’t been earning much through it – and sometimes I wonder if the problem is with the ads themselves. But how do you go about Adwords optimization, as well as placement of ads properly on your site? I just encountered some excellent suggestions at StylishDesign.com, a website dedicated to web design, search engine optimization, and other issues related to growing your website and making it run smoothly. Frankly, the insights are fascinating, and quite valuable for someone like me without a deep knowledge of the arcana of web design. I encourage you to check them out for tips and ideas.

Gift Baskets And Other Mother's Day Gifts

Are you looking for Mother’s Day flowers and gifts to tell your mom just how much you love her and value all the things she has done for you over the years? Well, 1800Flowers.com has some beautiful mothers day gift baskets and flowers that would thrill almost any mother if they came her children or grandchildre. Take your pick – they have chocolates, stuffed animals, and other fun gifts for Mom in addition to the flowers!

This is going to be a difficult year for us here, since my wife’s mother passed away just a few weeks ago. Call it compensation, but that leads me to feel like it is quite important to make sure that I take the opportunity to honor my mother with something special this year. And since I know she loves live plants rather than cut flowers, I’m thinking of something a little bit exotic – perhaps this bonsai set in its very own water garden.

Absolutely beautiful – and a gift that can become a hobby as she keeps it trimmed back into the traditional bonsai form.

And then there are the gift baskets – filled with fruit, gourmet food, or candy. You can even find wine gift baskets and spa gift baskets for Mom, if those are what she is into. The key thing, though, is that you can find a great Mother’s Day gift basket for Mom at http://www.1800flowers.com/other/mothers-day-gift-baskets -- and lot’s of other great gifts besides!

Blinds

When we moved in to our current house, all the windows had some pretty standard mini blinds in place -- the kind you buy at the local department store to cut corners on fixing up the house. Over the years they have become rather dilapidated. As summer approaches, I'm thinking that maybe we need to get something different for our windows -- and I am leaning towards these blackout Roman shades to help cool the house during the hot Texas summer – especially since they are both stylish and affordable.

The Sedona Method

There are lots of folks out here who will tell you that you free yourself of emotional and physical pain and suffering so that you can be happier and feel more peaceful. One of the recent entries into this self-help/improvement world is the Sedona Method, which you can learn more about at http://sedona.com/.

The Sedona Method presents itself as a way of bridging the ideas found in The Secret and A New Earth. It claims that the power and simplicity of The Sedona Method helps you to achieve freedom from ego while getting what you want through the Law of Attraction. Indeed, the website mentioned above is designed to show youhow The Sedona Method is the bridge between The Secret and the Law of Attraction though its various pages and videos designed to introduce you to the Sedona Method.

Frankly, IÂ’m not entirely sold on The Sedona Method and the related teachings of Eckhart Tolle. IÂ’ve seen many different programs over the years that claim to help you achieve some form of inner peace by letting go of negative energy and emotions. But based upon the positive statements of those who have tried The Sedona Method, IÂ’m inclined to believe that there is something to it. After all, when you have so many folks happy with the outcome of implementing the ideas behind such a program in their lives, it becomes clear that there is some merit to what it offers. So check out their offer of a free DVD and CD at their website to learn more.

Tickets For The Big Fight

When I was a kid, I used to look forward to seeing Muhammad Ali fight on television, and always wanted to see him in person. I’ll never forget the two fights he fought against Leon Spinks – absolute classics.

Well, today my high school students are excited about another fight, and another couple of boxers. The two fighters are Oscar De La Hoya and Floyd Mayweather, Jr. A year ago, De La Hoya tried to defend his title against World Boxing Council welterweight champ Floyd Mayweather, Jr. at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas. In the end, Mayweather won by a split decision after twelve rounds and earned the World Boxing Council (WBC) Light Middleweight title.

Well, now it is rematch time, with the return engagement scheduled for September 20, 2008. Do you want to be one of the lucky ones who gets to see the action happening live at the MGM Grand Garden Arena? If you do, you need to act early to purchase De La Hoya vs Mayweather tickets unless you want to end up with overpriced tickets from ticket brokers or scalpers – or worse yet, no tickets at all. Will Mayweather defend his title successfully, or will it again change hands in a spectacular display of the pugilist’s art?

Lord, Won't You Buy Me A Mercedes-Benz!

When I was a kid, I was impressed by the car driven by the father of one of my teammates on the swim team. Dr. B. drove a brand new Mercedes-Benz, and I fell in love with that car, and dreamed of owning one. As a teacher, that has always seemed out of my price range -- but I still look around to see if I can afford one.

That's how I came across this site, http://www.NewMercedesDC.com, just doing a little bit of internet window shopping. The site is operated by American Service Center Mercedes in Arlington, VA, just outside of our nation's capital. Looking over their site, I was able to find a lot of information about the history of the Mercedes-Benz, and was even able to find links to in-stock automobiles. Glancing at the C Class, I found that with a little scrimping and saving I might be able to afford one of these beauties in a few years.

Of course, I'm a bit far away from the Washington, DC area to be able to make a trip up to buy a new car. But even if you live within 150-200 miles of Washington, DC, it would be worth your while to look in on their website -- they might just be able to save you enough money to by your New Mercedes DC rather than closer to where you live -- the prices are that much better!

Making A Comfortable Bed For The Kids

This may sound odd, but one of the things I don't believe in skimping on is bedding. Why not? Well, how about because we spend somewhere between 25% and 33% of our life in bed? You need that sleep, otherwise you don't get the rest you need and cannot function at peak efficiency the rest of the time. What does it profit you to save a few bucks at the cost of a good night's sleep?

And that is true of the kids every bit as much as the adults. Kids' rooms should be comfortable and inviting, especially their beds. Looking For A Cadillac

The first time I ever sat in on the purchase of a new car would have been about 1979 when my Dad bought a brand new Cadillac Coup DeVille, for the whopping total of $12,500. Let’s be honest – you won’t get a new Cadillac (or much of anything else) for that price. But you can come a whole lot closer if you buy your Cadillac used, like you can through many dealerships.

And if you are located in Pennsylvania, you may just want to drop in on a site that offers some great deals on Used Cadillacs Harrisburg PA . You’ll have the opportunity to browse for a great car of recent vintage, with all the features, bells and whistles of a new Cadillac – and who will really know that you let someone else take that big depreciation hit by being the first owner of the car? The dealership associated with this website is Sutliff Auto Group – a trusted and respected dealership that has been providing fantastic service to central Pennsylvania for over 75 years. How respected? Their reputation was so good that they were selected to be among the first Satturn and Hummer dealerships in the nation when those lines were introduced.

So if you are interested in buying that Cadillac, why not drop by http://www.UsedCadillacsHarrisburgPA.com and see what they have for you? Just about the only thing you wonÂ’t find there will be this one.

TIC Investments

Even with the current economic situation, real estate remains a huge business. Done properly, you can really make a great deal of money simply by buying or selling the right properties.

One option is through the use of the tenant-in-common or TIC investment. Here's how such investments work. A developer of a property puts out a contract on the building that he is working on -- one that is intended for institutional use, rather than homes. Then the property is put up for investment by other companies. The investors end up owning a property even if they all they invest is a small percentage of the total value of the building. Rather than owning a share, you actually end up owning a property instead of just owning a percentage. You then have the possibility of making quite a tidy profit when the property itself makes money on the rental market. Your investment is at risk -- I've seen many such deals make money and some lose money -- but in the end you usually win.

Do you want to know more about TIC investments? You can find out everything you need to know about how they work by visiting the website of Cardea Commercial for more information.

And they do have it all – Adult Costumes, Kids Costumes, Couple’s Costumes – and now they are even featuring Medieval/Renaissance costumes and other Historical costumes! Lifelock Your Life

Identity theft sucks. And sadly, it is the biggest consumer complaint today. Heck, even presidential candidates get their identity stolen or their personal information hacked into – and certainly lower level candidates like former Maryland Lt. Gov. Michael Steele have had credit reports illegally accessed and information disclosed to the public.

That is where Lifelock is important. At lifelock they can proactively secure your personal data so that you can’t have your identity stolen – and if they fail, they will compensate you and make the situation right. There are lots of companies out there making claims, but there is only one Lifelock.

I’m married to a home makeover show addict. We’ve all seen them. And at least once a week I hear wistful sighs from my wife over the possibility of doing a home makeover – if only we had the cash and could get on one of the shows. I’m told that I’m not the only guy with a wife suffering from this affliction.

Well, here’s a chance for that home makeover –for free. All you have to do is enter a little contest so that you can transform your home.

The Renuzit TriScents Transform Your Home Makeover contest is going to give away a $20,000 home makeover. Could it be you winning $20K to fix up your house? By now you must be wondering – What do I have to do to enter? Not much – you just need to submit the following:

1. A video and an essay

OR

2. A photo and an essay

Of course, you really need to make it clear in that material why YOU ought to be the prize winner. And you have to explain how Renuzit TriScents will be an important part of that change in your home, by including discussion of the issue of scent. That doesnÂ’t sound all that complicated, does it? Just be sure to follow the official rules.

Once received, conforming entries will be judged based on the degree to which your reasons for the makeover are compelling and how well your visual submission shows the need for the makeover.

My house? I think I’d like to do the kitchen. Old and dated, filled with appliances that date back to before we moved in (they clean up nice, but aren't), it is time to move into the twenty-first century, it is in need of a change. We’d like to put in a tile floor, reface the cabinets, install a new countertop, and buy new appliances – including a stove with a fifth burner/griddle. Getting rid of the current flooring and the countertop might just help with the slightly musty smell that I’ve always associated with old wood in a damp environment. And being so close to the bay, I think that topping it all off with Triscents’ Seaside breezes scent would be perfect in “clearing the air". After all, the kitchen is the heart of the home!

3GB

It seems like at least once a week I hear about some new social networking site that is going to be the “next big thing”. Reality check – most of them aren’t. Still, these site fill a nice for some folks, allowing them to link with old friends or meet new ones. And let’s not kid ourselves -- social network sites (SNSs) such as MySpace, Facebook, Cyworld, and Bebo have millions of active users, many of whom have made the sites an integral part of their daily lives. How’s that for a business model?

What makes social network sites unique is that lwet peole publicly associate with others and make their interactions known to so many other people. These connections are often related to their daily lives as a part of their “real world” social networks, but can extend well-beyond that. Just through my blogging, I’ve found friends in my field from around the country – fellow educators with whom I have a bond even though we have never met face to face. And I know that my wife, with her disability issues, has linked into a network of others who deal with similar issues.

That brings me to the latest SNS to cross my path, 3GB Communities. This social networking links people according to a variety of factors, including sex, interests, birthday, hobbies, favorites, and other such criteria. The site allows users to share their personal interests via music, pictures, and chat services.
So if you are looking for another SNS, why not join 3gb community www.3gb.biz? They seem to have the potential to be the next big thing in social networking – so why not be the opinion leader who brings in all your friends this time?

Sightseeing In Chicago

I spent my high school and college years within a short distance of Chicago, so I love Chicago any time of year. Still, I think that the Spring may be the best time to visit. After all, spring weather in Chicago is temperate, and you begin actually get to see th new life associated with the season bursting forth. After I moved south to St. Louis, I still looked forward to little getaways to Chicago, just to take in some of the sites and dine at some favorite restaurants. After all, whether you are interested in pizza at Uno’s or Due’s, ethnic cuisine in one of Chicago’s many neighborhoods, or the experience that is Ed Debevic’s, Chicago has great food – and in the spring you can still sit in Wrigley field and pretend that the Cubs have a shot at the World Series!

Want to know about some of the things to do in Chicago? Why not sign up for the eNewsletter from Trusted Tours & Attractions? They will email you with great tourism values in Chicago, Things to do in Boston or sightseeing tours in one of the other cities in which they do business. Then you can purchase your tickets on their website.

Kaplan Distance Learning

Now my second job involves teaching on the college level. It is a great deal of fun, but we've recently introduced a new twist into the program -- most of the work is now done under a "distance learning" format. What this means is that most of the work done by my students is done at home -- and that most of the content delivery that I do is done over the internet. At the end of their entire program, students graduate with an Associates Degree.

Well, we are not the only folks in the distance learning business -- indeed, there are a great many programs that are set up on a distance learning model that teach entire courses in that manner. One of those is found at http://www.kaplanopenlearning.org.uk/distance-learning.html, where they have a Distance Learning program that is well-respected in the UK.

Why choose a distance learning program with Kaplan? Well, because of the freedom it gives you. You can study where you want to study, and do your coursework where you want to do it. You don't have to worry about commuting too and from school, and you can work on your material WHEN YOU WANT TO, not based upon the college's "master schedule". And best of all, when you are done with your course of study you have a degree from a respected educational institution.

WHo is this sort of program good for? Well, ANYONE -- anyone who doesn't want to deal with commuting or dorm life, anyone who has a job, a career, or a family that makes the scheduled commitment that goes with a traditional college program difficult to live up to. Sound interesting? Then check out Kaplan!

Fashions From Roca Wear

I'm a high school teacher. That means I see a veritable fashion show of all varieties of the latest fashions on my kids every day. Maybe it is a sign of my ever advancing descent into middle age, but I donÂ’t always know the brands and the styles that they are wearing into my classroom. One brand I do know is Roca Wear, and I'll be the first to admit that they have some great looking fashions for men. For example, there is a lot of wonderful Roca Wear clothing that a guy of my age and size could wear without looking completely out of place. And the prices are not unreasonable, either.

Smith Mountain Lake Living

Have you ever wanted to up and relocate yourself into a natural mountain setting where you can kick back and cast your line into a beautiful lake full of fish? It is nice to do if you can, as I found out in my younger days when I went to college in Virginia. As great as the angling I've experience has been in the many places I have dropped a line, I really havenÂ’t found anything that compares to the joy of my fishing experiences in the Blue Ridge Mountains. ThatÂ’s why I wish I were in a position to relocate to The Coves at Smith Mountain Lake in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. The Coves is a high-end gated community, designed with comfort and enjoyment in mind. So if you are looking for a place with great boating and fishing, visit CovesAtSML.com .
