The Sedona Method

There are lots of folks out here who will tell you that you free yourself of emotional and physical pain and suffering so that you can be happier and feel more peaceful. One of the recent entries into this self-help/improvement world is the Sedona Method, which you can learn more about at http://sedona.com/.

The Sedona Method presents itself as a way of bridging the ideas found in The Secret and A New Earth. It claims that the power and simplicity of The Sedona Method helps you to achieve freedom from ego while getting what you want through the Law of Attraction. Indeed, the website mentioned above is designed to show youhow The Sedona Method is the bridge between The Secret and the Law of Attraction though its various pages and videos designed to introduce you to the Sedona Method.

Frankly, IÂ’m not entirely sold on The Sedona Method and the related teachings of Eckhart Tolle. IÂ’ve seen many different programs over the years that claim to help you achieve some form of inner peace by letting go of negative energy and emotions. But based upon the positive statements of those who have tried The Sedona Method, IÂ’m inclined to believe that there is something to it. After all, when you have so many folks happy with the outcome of implementing the ideas behind such a program in their lives, it becomes clear that there is some merit to what it offers. So check out their offer of a free DVD and CD at their website to learn more.

Tickets For The Big Fight

When I was a kid, I used to look forward to seeing Muhammad Ali fight on television, and always wanted to see him in person. I’ll never forget the two fights he fought against Leon Spinks – absolute classics.

Well, today my high school students are excited about another fight, and another couple of boxers. The two fighters are Oscar De La Hoya and Floyd Mayweather, Jr. A year ago, De La Hoya tried to defend his title against World Boxing Council welterweight champ Floyd Mayweather, Jr. at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas. In the end, Mayweather won by a split decision after twelve rounds and earned the World Boxing Council (WBC) Light Middleweight title.

Well, now it is rematch time, with the return engagement scheduled for September 20, 2008. Do you want to be one of the lucky ones who gets to see the action happening live at the MGM Grand Garden Arena? If you do, you need to act early to purchase De La Hoya vs Mayweather tickets unless you want to end up with overpriced tickets from ticket brokers or scalpers – or worse yet, no tickets at all. Will Mayweather defend his title successfully, or will it again change hands in a spectacular display of the pugilist’s art?

Lord, Won't You Buy Me A Mercedes-Benz!

When I was a kid, I was impressed by the car driven by the father of one of my teammates on the swim team. Dr. B. drove a brand new Mercedes-Benz, and I fell in love with that car, and dreamed of owning one. As a teacher, that has always seemed out of my price range -- but I still look around to see if I can afford one.

That's how I came across this site, http://www.NewMercedesDC.com, just doing a little bit of internet window shopping. The site is operated by American Service Center Mercedes in Arlington, VA, just outside of our nation's capital. Looking over their site, I was able to find a lot of information about the history of the Mercedes-Benz, and was even able to find links to in-stock automobiles. Glancing at the C Class, I found that with a little scrimping and saving I might be able to afford one of these beauties in a few years.

Of course, I'm a bit far away from the Washington, DC area to be able to make a trip up to buy a new car. But even if you live within 150-200 miles of Washington, DC, it would be worth your while to look in on their website -- they might just be able to save you enough money to by your New Mercedes DC rather than closer to where you live -- the prices are that much better!

Making A Comfortable Bed For The Kids

This may sound odd, but one of the things I don't believe in skimping on is bedding. Why not? Well, how about because we spend somewhere between 25% and 33% of our life in bed? You need that sleep, otherwise you don't get the rest you need and cannot function at peak efficiency the rest of the time. What does it profit you to save a few bucks at the cost of a good night's sleep?

And that is true of the kids every bit as much as the adults. Kids' rooms should be comfortable and inviting, especially their beds. Looking For A Cadillac

The first time I ever sat in on the purchase of a new car would have been about 1979 when my Dad bought a brand new Cadillac Coup DeVille, for the whopping total of $12,500. Let’s be honest – you won’t get a new Cadillac (or much of anything else) for that price. But you can come a whole lot closer if you buy your Cadillac used, like you can through many dealerships.

And if you are located in Pennsylvania, you may just want to drop in on a site that offers some great deals on Used Cadillacs Harrisburg PA . You’ll have the opportunity to browse for a great car of recent vintage, with all the features, bells and whistles of a new Cadillac – and who will really know that you let someone else take that big depreciation hit by being the first owner of the car? The dealership associated with this website is Sutliff Auto Group – a trusted and respected dealership that has been providing fantastic service to central Pennsylvania for over 75 years. How respected? Their reputation was so good that they were selected to be among the first Satturn and Hummer dealerships in the nation when those lines were introduced.

So if you are interested in buying that Cadillac, why not drop by http://www.UsedCadillacsHarrisburgPA.com and see what they have for you? Just about the only thing you wonÂ’t find there will be this one.

TIC Investments

Even with the current economic situation, real estate remains a huge business. Done properly, you can really make a great deal of money simply by buying or selling the right properties.

One option is through the use of the tenant-in-common or TIC investment. Here's how such investments work. A developer of a property puts out a contract on the building that he is working on -- one that is intended for institutional use, rather than homes. Then the property is put up for investment by other companies. The investors end up owning a property even if they all they invest is a small percentage of the total value of the building. Rather than owning a share, you actually end up owning a property instead of just owning a percentage. You then have the possibility of making quite a tidy profit when the property itself makes money on the rental market. Your investment is at risk -- I've seen many such deals make money and some lose money -- but in the end you usually win.

Do you want to know more about TIC investments? You can find out everything you need to know about how they work by visiting the website of Cardea Commercial for more information.

Costumes

Halloween is still quite a way off, but it will seem like no time until it is time to get those Halloween Costumes that will be the envy of every would-be ghoul and ghost. One of the great companies you can deal with is found at InCostume, com, where they have a variety of fantastic costumes.

And they do have it all – Adult Costumes, Kids Costumes, Couple’s Costumes – and now they are even featuring Medieval/Renaissance costumes and other Historical costumes! Lifelock Your Life

Identity theft sucks. And sadly, it is the biggest consumer complaint today. Heck, even presidential candidates get their identity stolen or their personal information hacked into – and certainly lower level candidates like former Maryland Lt. Gov. Michael Steele have had credit reports illegally accessed and information disclosed to the public.

That is where Lifelock is important. At lifelock they can proactively secure your personal data so that you can’t have your identity stolen – and if they fail, they will compensate you and make the situation right. There are lots of companies out there making claims, but there is only one Lifelock.

Transform Your Home With Triscents

I’m married to a home makeover show addict. We’ve all seen them. And at least once a week I hear wistful sighs from my wife over the possibility of doing a home makeover – if only we had the cash and could get on one of the shows. I’m told that I’m not the only guy with a wife suffering from this affliction.

Well, here’s a chance for that home makeover –for free. All you have to do is enter a little contest so that you can transform your home.

The Renuzit TriScents Transform Your Home Makeover contest is going to give away a $20,000 home makeover. Could it be you winning $20K to fix up your house? By now you must be wondering – What do I have to do to enter? Not much – you just need to submit the following:

1. A video and an essay

OR

2. A photo and an essay

Of course, you really need to make it clear in that material why YOU ought to be the prize winner. And you have to explain how Renuzit TriScents will be an important part of that change in your home, by including discussion of the issue of scent. That doesnÂ’t sound all that complicated, does it? Just be sure to follow the official rules.

Once received, conforming entries will be judged based on the degree to which your reasons for the makeover are compelling and how well your visual submission shows the need for the makeover.

kitchen.jpg

My house? I think I’d like to do the kitchen. Old and dated, filled with appliances that date back to before we moved in (they clean up nice, but aren't), it is time to move into the twenty-first century, it is in need of a change. We’d like to put in a tile floor, reface the cabinets, install a new countertop, and buy new appliances – including a stove with a fifth burner/griddle. Getting rid of the current flooring and the countertop might just help with the slightly musty smell that I’ve always associated with old wood in a damp environment. And being so close to the bay, I think that topping it all off with Triscents’ Seaside breezes scent would be perfect in “clearing the air". After all, the kitchen is the heart of the home!

3GB

It seems like at least once a week I hear about some new social networking site that is going to be the “next big thing”. Reality check – most of them aren’t. Still, these site fill a nice for some folks, allowing them to link with old friends or meet new ones. And let’s not kid ourselves -- social network sites (SNSs) such as MySpace, Facebook, Cyworld, and Bebo have millions of active users, many of whom have made the sites an integral part of their daily lives. How’s that for a business model?

What makes social network sites unique is that lwet peole publicly associate with others and make their interactions known to so many other people. These connections are often related to their daily lives as a part of their “real world” social networks, but can extend well-beyond that. Just through my blogging, I’ve found friends in my field from around the country – fellow educators with whom I have a bond even though we have never met face to face. And I know that my wife, with her disability issues, has linked into a network of others who deal with similar issues.

That brings me to the latest SNS to cross my path, 3GB Communities. This social networking links people according to a variety of factors, including sex, interests, birthday, hobbies, favorites, and other such criteria. The site allows users to share their personal interests via music, pictures, and chat services.
So if you are looking for another SNS, why not join 3gb community www.3gb.biz? They seem to have the potential to be the next big thing in social networking – so why not be the opinion leader who brings in all your friends this time?

Kaplan Distance Learning

Now my second job involves teaching on the college level. It is a great deal of fun, but we've recently introduced a new twist into the program -- most of the work is now done under a "distance learning" format. What this means is that most of the work done by my students is done at home -- and that most of the content delivery that I do is done over the internet. At the end of their entire program, students graduate with an Associates Degree.

Well, we are not the only folks in the distance learning business -- indeed, there are a great many programs that are set up on a distance learning model that teach entire courses in that manner. One of those is found at http://www.kaplanopenlearning.org.uk/distance-learning.html, where they have a Distance Learning program that is well-respected in the UK.

Why choose a distance learning program with Kaplan? Well, because of the freedom it gives you. You can study where you want to study, and do your coursework where you want to do it. You don't have to worry about commuting too and from school, and you can work on your material WHEN YOU WANT TO, not based upon the college's "master schedule". And best of all, when you are done with your course of study you have a degree from a respected educational institution.

WHo is this sort of program good for? Well, ANYONE -- anyone who doesn't want to deal with commuting or dorm life, anyone who has a job, a career, or a family that makes the scheduled commitment that goes with a traditional college program difficult to live up to. Sound interesting? Then check out Kaplan!

Fashions From Roca Wear

I'm a high school teacher. That means I see a veritable fashion show of all varieties of the latest fashions on my kids every day. Maybe it is a sign of my ever advancing descent into middle age, but I donÂ’t always know the brands and the styles that they are wearing into my classroom. One brand I do know is Roca Wear, and I'll be the first to admit that they have some great looking fashions for men. For example, there is a lot of wonderful Roca Wear clothing that a guy of my age and size could wear without looking completely out of place. And the prices are not unreasonable, either.

Essays, Theses, And Dissertations!

Oh, my!r

One part of any student’s academic career is writing papers and essays. Indeed, writing is an essential part of the process of obtaining a degree in higher education. And while ensuring that all work you turn in is your own work, there are ways that you can approach it to make it easier – for example, by working with a custom writing company. Now please be aware – I’m not talking about plagiarism, which I completely oppose and unconditionally denounce. Instead, I am talking about the use of things like a dissertation template or professional help editing essay for high stakes work like your thesis or dissertation on the graduate school level. After all, every professional writer has editors, and there is nothing unethical about that.

Hard Drive Solutions?

Every now and then, I look over at the old computer sitting across the room, and wistfully wonder if there is any way to recover data from the hard drive that crashed. IÂ’ll be honest, most of what was on it was not that precious, but I wish I had thought to back up some old pictures of my late grandmother, her obituary, and the text file with the eulogy my father delivered. IÂ’ve managed to recover most of it, but some of those pictures are gone for good. I recently ran across a site that might help me out, because it has all sorts of article on Hard Drives and Operating Systems that might allow me to find a way to access those files on that dead drive. IÂ’ll let you know if I have any success with the techniques suggested.

Term Papers Online

I remember the "paper services" that were always posting stuff around campus when I was in college. Now that field has gotten a lot more sophisticated. Today you can browse through online sites containing tens of thousands of essays, and you can get a custom essay written for you, in your own writing style, in a matter of hours. As a teacher, I find this disturbing, because the whole purpose in of an essay assignment is for the student to learn about his/her topic and the writing process itself. Then there are the consequences that come with turning in one of these papers as your own – a college friend did exactly that and found himself expelled before the end of the week. Cheating has consequences -- and it is even easier for teachers to track down cheating today than it was in past years.

But I have no problem in principle with a company like FratFiles.com offering students access to papers and essays on common (or not so common) subjects. They do provide a good jumping-off point for research, and may even direct students to resources (online and print) that they might not have otherwise found. And they do offer some very good free essays for your examination. I am, on the other hand, less than pleased by their custom-writing service – after all, even if the essays are plagiarism-free, doesn't submitting them as one's own work constitute an act of plagiarism? I know how I would handle such a situation in my classroom – and how I have in the past.

Whether we are talking the “big names” in the floral industry or smaller companies, it is just amazing the beautiful flowers you can find at a great price for quick delivery – and you can get just about anything. And since my wife and I have no children except for a four-footed, fur-covered one, the day is a difficult one. And given my late mother-in-lawÂ’s breathing problems, we went for gift baskets of food.

But MotherÂ’s Day this year will be different. We lost my mother-in-law a few weeks ago, and so this year will be an especially hard one. IÂ’m feeling like I need to do something special this year. So for my own mother, I will probably send a live plant. For my wife, roses from me and the dog to show her how much we both appreciate all the mothering she does for the two of us. Perhaps this sense of loss makes it more important in my eyes to do the right thing.

One small comfort at this time is that my wife and I got to spend a weekend with her mom shortly before she died. We both got to tell her what a special lady she was. At 1800Flowers.com, they are holding "The Celebrate Mom For Who She Is" contest where you can enter to win $30,000 by writing a short story and uploading a video about your mom – a chance to say just how special she is. Take the opportunity to do that. You won’t regret it.

Sonography

My wife has needed a variety of tests that involved the use of specialized equipment by sonography technician. trust me, a good sonography tech is worth his or her weight in gold -- we've dealt with some with who clearly needed additional training, and one with a lousy interpersonal style, as well as some who are fantastic. If you would like to get into this rewarding field, check out this listing of sonography schools for more information.

Reflections On Swimwear

With the weather here in Houston making that change to spring, it is already time for young ladies to make their appearance on the beach or by the pool wearing exquisite swimwear. Hey, it gets warm early down here, and stays warm late. And it isn’t like I’m dead – as long as I don’t gawk or drool, I think that enjoying the scenery is a healthy thing.

Now maybe it is the fact that I was a swimmer as a kid, and therefore surrounded by girls in Speedo suits, but I have always been and remain partial to one piece swimsuits. They leave a little something to the imagination in most cases, whereas many two piece suits are simply too revealing. I’m not a prude (or anything like one), but there is a certain virtue in modesty – and I’ve also found that quite often less (skin) is more (beauty). As I once told a friend – I found the nude beach I visited in Europe to be much less interesting than the beach where everyone wore swimsuits, because the naked flesh at the former made people-watching and conversation rather awkward.

But in the end, whether we are talking bikinis, tankinis, or some other swimsuit design, I look forward to the arrival of swimsuit weather and the joys that it brings with it.

Conductor

Let's be honest here -- training employees can be hard work, and monitoring the effectiveness of a training program can be even harder. That is one of the great things about the new training management software from ConductIt.com -- Conductor. The best thing about this software is that it allows you to seemlessly track what training every employee has had, what training they need to have. That is especially true where licensure questions arise -- after all, failure of an employee to have the proper training at the proper time could result in it being a violation of the law for that employee to continue to do their job! Conductor includes modules for employee tracking, curriculum development, curriculum design, training scheduling, training tracking, training registration and reporting all in one affordable easy-to-use software package. Why wouldn't you want this sort of software for your business?

Love Your Lips!

Between weather changes here in Texas and the cold weather on the East Coast while we were traveling this past month, my lips took a real beating from the changing climtary conditions to which they were exposed. As a rule, I don’t get chapped lips – but I sure did this year. And my wife, whose more delicate skin dries much more easily, had to work to keep her lips from chapping and cracking almost any time she stepped out of doors.

But what can you use to keep your lips healthy? Well, I’m told that Cosmeceuticals and Nutraceuticals offers a great line of lip treatments to go with their other make-up and skin care products. For example, their Lip Tint (Soft Kiss) provides not only protection of that delicate skin, but also the beauty of a lip color that matches your make-up needs. And now, whenever you purchase $100 in products from Borba -- any of their skin care products, not just those related to lips – you will receive that lip care product free with your shipment!

So take a little time, drop by the Borba website and see the many great skin care products that they have to offer you – and then take advantage of that April special offer of the free Lip Tint. Your skin will thank you, and you will love the beauty that comes with using their products.
