In an interview on CNN's "Larry King Live," Rice said she came to that view from personal experience. She said her father, a black minister, and his friends armed themselves to defended the black community in Birmingham, Ala., against the White Knight Riders in 1962 and 1963. She said if local authorities had had lists of registered weapons, she did not think her father and other blacks would have been able to defend themselves.Birmingham, where Rice was born in 1954, was a focal point of racial tension. Four black girls were killed when a bomb exploded at a Birmingham church in 1963, a galvanizing moment in the fight for civil rights.
Rice said she favored background checks and controls at gun shows. However, she added, "we have to be very careful when we start abridging rights that the Founding Fathers thought very important."
Rice said the Founding Fathers understood "there might be circumstances that people like my father experienced in Birmingham, Ala., when, in fact, the police weren't going to protect you."
"I also don't think we get to pick and choose from the Constitution," she said in the interview, which was taped for airing Wednesday night. "The Second Amendment is as important as the First Amendment."
One more reason IÂ’m ready to back you in 2008, Dr. Rice!

Semper Fi.
BTW, that's not my name unless you got a rubber stamp approval from RWR.

Little details like that make a big difference.

Anyway, Syria's next. Then that'll put Iran in a vice-grip with three occupied countries around Iran (Iraq, Syria to the west, and Afghanistan to the east) while "US friendly" and "democratic" country Turkey north of Syria and Iraq, and we have an "allied" country Pakistan south of Afghanistan leaving only Turkmenistan being the only "open" border to the northeast of Iran. And then we mustn't forget the newly Democratic Georgia, a country who support President Bush where he recently visited there, that sits practically between Russia and Iran.
Yeah, Syria's next. And we know Syria is the supply line where the Anbar Province sits next to Syria where the recent battle is taking place wiping out terrorist sympathizers in Iraq.
Syria's wiping their brows right now.

That is the classic example where you copied my contents for your own. Get a life, McWeenie.
YOu lack the creativity!

My first "Semper Fi" was in my January 30 blog.

My second one on February 5.

My third "semper fi" on February 6

What you're referencing to is my March 24 blog "Semper Fidilis", and no I have not been using this ever since after your blog making fun of a girl(again, ???). I have always used it. You see, if you haven't figured it out by now, I have an extended family that are in the Armed Forces, including the Marines. From time to time I blog about the Armed Forces and related news. Also, my nephew is serving his 2nd tour of duty in Iraq as a 2nd generation Marine. I receive his emails a few times a week so it's natural for me to do this saluting of "Semper Fi". Many people don't know what a "Semper Fi" is. Many don't even get it to this day.
Stop with the delusions, R.
Oh, and a "Semper Fi" to the troops, too. Those terrorists are fleeing, of course, in Operation Matador in the latest news.

I'm thinking Tommy Franks or Condi for Prez, so far. An extended "Semper Fi" to them as well.
