No Hearings Until January?
Unbelievable! Why give the Democrats an extra month to manufacture dirt?

The Republican-controlled Senate will begin hearings Jan. 9 on Judge Samuel Alito's appointment to the Supreme Court, spurning President Bush's call for a final confirmation vote by year's end."It's simply wasn't possible to accommodate the schedule that the White House wanted," said Sen. Arlen Specter, R-Pa., chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee. He outlined a schedule that envisions five days of hearings, followed by a vote in committee on Jan. 17 and the full Senate on Jan. 20.
I guess we just can't have Congresscritters working during the holidays like normal folks.

Manufacture or discover? It looks like he failed to recuse himself in a case where he had a financial interest. Who knows what else will come up in the next couple months? That's why they allow a little time - it would be a shame to get a scumbag on the Supreme Court just because some people are afraid of an investigation.

While I will not argue with your presentation of the facts, the reality is that this has been known for years and no disciplinary action was taken in the matter -- indicating it is not anything of substance.
No, I'm not afraid of an honest investigation at all -- he's already had the rectal exam by the press and the FBI, dating back to the initial search for a justice back at the beginning of the summer and before, when he was known to be a short-lister for any vacancy. I'm arguing that it has already been done.
What I do fear is the Democrat/liberal propensity to lie and fabricate false evidence against their enemies.
