No, not the fact that they are permitted to hold the parade (a right I fully support) – but the fact that after holding the New York’s United American Muslim Day Parade on the last Sunday of September for many years, this year (for the second year in a row) it will take place on the on the Sunday closest to the anniversary of the murder of thousands by jihadi Muslims in New York City and elsewhere.

Consider the date of this year's United American Muslim Day Parade in New York City: this coming Sunday, September 9, only two days before the sixth anniversary of the radical Islamists' attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon in which more than 3,000 people died.

For 20 years, thousands of Muslims gathered in New York City on the last Sunday of September for their annual parade. It came off without incident. Then, last year, with Siraj Wahhaj, a fiery Brooklyn imam as grand marshal, the parade moved its date forward to come within a whisker of 9/11. The "Mainstream" media have been asleep about this, not asking the pregnant question: Why time the parade to nearly coincide with an infamous event perpetrated by radicals purporting to be martyrs for Islam?

Why the change? Why put an event honoring Islam on a date that is so close to the anniversary of the attack on America? It is no more appropriate than holding an event in honor of Japan on or about December 7.

This is just wrong.

And CAIR, of course, is offended. By the objections of those who are troubled by the parade date.

1 9/11 was an attack on America.

The people holding the parade are Americans. They were attacked on 9/11, too.

2 Yeah, and most of the members of the German-American Bund were Americans, too. Never mind that it was a Nazi front, you probably would have supported a parade by them on D-Day.

I know -- let's see if we can get the KKK to hold a parade in Memphis on MLK Day. What could possibly be offensive about that?

As I make very clear about the parade in this post, my objection is not to the event itself -- it is to moving a parade celebrating Islam to coincide with an attack on America in the name of Islam.
