Of course, some things never change.
* "I believe . . . that this war is lost, and this surge is not accomplishing anything, as is shown by the extreme violence in Iraq this week."--Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid, April 19, 2007
* "Resolved, that this convention does explicitly declare, as the sense of the American people, that after four years of failure to restore the Union by the experiment of war, during which, under the pretence of military necessity, or war power higher than the Constitution, the Constitution itself has been disregarded in every part, and public liberty and private right alike trodden down, and the material prosperity of the country essentially impaired, justice, humanity, liberty, and the public welfare demand that immediate efforts be made for a cessation of hostilities, with a view to an ultimate convention of the States or other peaceable means, to the end that at the earliest practicable moment peace may be restored on the basis of the federal Union of the States."--1864 Democratic platform

UPDATE: Even Harry Reid's hometown paper thinks he is out of line.

I'll withdraw my criticism if you can show my where Reid called our troops losers. But you can't. You did that. You took his position (a position that many, many troops and most Americans agree with), and twisted it into a vile, sick little sight gag for the amusement of unthinking people.
How sick do you need to be to sit on your butt stateside and post insults about our troops under the pathetic delusion that you are supporting them?

If we have lost in Iraq, the clear implication is that the troops there are losers. Indeed, given the comments of John Kerry and other Democrats about the sort of person they believe ends up in the military, it is clear that the standard Democrat position is that these folks are losers for even being in the military in the first place.

Please, for once, show some moral courage and admit you were wrong for calling the troops losers.

And Dan -- we will continue to point that out time and again.

Now, don't go trying to change the subject or twist the words of others. Reid has not called the troops losers. You have.

You are either a liar or a fool if you argue otherwise.

You can't, because you are a despicable coward.

Our troops are NOT losers R w R, their leaders here at home our the losers.

Especially when I juxtapose the Reid statement with the statement of the Democrat platform of 1864, written a matter of months before that same "failure" resulted in victory.
Apologize -- hell no, because I am not calling the troops losers. They are not -- but Reid and the Neo-Copperhead Democrats are.
