Hurricane Ike -- The Aftermath
Well, the storm has passed, but the devastation continues.
The house is uninhabitable, and so my Darling Democrat, the Apolitical Pooch, and I are living at our church for the time being.
I will be headed back to school Friday after 2 weeks off, and the kids return Monday. It should be interesting to see how folks survived and how this changes school life for us all.

Well, at least you have a house to "fix up". My cousin and his wife lived on Crystal Beach and they lost his house, boat, and his business....He only has his car and the clothes he took with him when he evacuated... The Lord blessed you with a house still standing, it will just take some time to get it back in order.....Glad you are OK.

After the Advent Storm, Dec 2, 2007, I spent most of every waking hour working on getting my business back together again. Much, I'm sure, as Humpty must have felt.
It took two weeks to get the "doors open" again. I didn't have power restored for ten days. I finished repairs to my real estate about a month ago.
Good luck. And make sure you thank the guys restoring your utilities. They are working incredible hours for you.
