Reflections On Swimwear

With the weather here in Houston making that change to spring, it is already time for young ladies to make their appearance on the beach or by the pool wearing exquisite swimwear. Hey, it gets warm early down here, and stays warm late. And it isn’t like I’m dead – as long as I don’t gawk or drool, I think that enjoying the scenery is a healthy thing.

Now maybe it is the fact that I was a swimmer as a kid, and therefore surrounded by girls in Speedo suits, but I have always been and remain partial to one piece swimsuits. They leave a little something to the imagination in most cases, whereas many two piece suits are simply too revealing. I’m not a prude (or anything like one), but there is a certain virtue in modesty – and I’ve also found that quite often less (skin) is more (beauty). As I once told a friend – I found the nude beach I visited in Europe to be much less interesting than the beach where everyone wore swimsuits, because the naked flesh at the former made people-watching and conversation rather awkward.

But in the end, whether we are talking bikinis, tankinis, or some other swimsuit design, I look forward to the arrival of swimsuit weather and the joys that it brings with it.
