Halloween Costumes

It really seems too soon to be planning for Halloween this year, but since it is the end of August, I suppose it makes sense to start looking ahead. After all, failure to do so will leave you without a decent costume for the big night, and that simply won't do.

As a kid, there was always some adult in the neighborhood who would give out candy wearing a costume. I haven't done that yet, but I think I might just start that tradition. After all, even if I don't have kids, I don't want to miss the fun. So what can I wear that would make the night interesting -- and maybe scare the pants off of some of the kids from the neighborhood.

That leads me to one of two Halloween Costumes that I think might serve my purpose just right.

Option number one would certainly stand out -- the Emperor of Darkness. It is bright, it looks sharp, and could certainly convey a frightening face for the evening. After all, that long red robe and the black accessories do sort of pop -- and if I add a light makeup that appears more deathly than satanic, I believe I would do well. Why the makeup change? Because down here in Houston, it will likely be a warm night with high humidity, and that grease paint will cause me to sweat like a pig. Something more powdery and pale -- perhaps with some dark highlights (or would that be lowlights) would be more comfortable.

On the other hand, there is also this Gravedigger costume. It would let me blend into the darker surroundings of my front yard, and certainly has a creepier air to it. And the required makeup seems to be less intensive than the other costume. And I think I can do a creepy voice better than a frightening voice, so it would fit better with my natural abilities.

Where can you go to get these costumes and more? Costume Cauldron has a great online present with over 14,000 costumes in stock for you to choose from. Their site is well, organized and easy to use, and includes great pictures and easy to find prices. If you are in the market for Halloween Costumes that you can use for years to come, they are certainly a site to check out.
