Credit

As a social studies teacher, I often find myself needing to teach economic concepts. There is such ignorance among my students on the topic. And I don’t just mean the macro-economic issues – it is also the consumer economic issues like loans, credit cards, and bankruptcy, that they don't understand.

I guess I can understand that, because I didn't understand those things when I was young, either. Indeed, I remember my first credit card, with a $500 limit when I was in college. I ran that sucker up but didnÂ’t realize I couldnÂ’t carry the balance long term. I certainly learned some lessons from that experience.
