The Real Peace Symbol

Michelle Malkin brings us this photo by Mike Fumento, taken in Iraq at Camp Ramadi. It delivers a profound message about the importance of military might to preserve peace, and the need to stand firm in the face of aggression by our enemies.

And note the quote from George Orwell, whose observation about the nature of security in a free society is spot on. And while I've not been able to find that quote confirmed from any other source, its message is clearly conveyed in this one.

Those who abjure violence can only do so because others are committing violence on their behalf.

And let us not forget his observation on pacifism, which applies as well to the "Peace Movement today as it did to those who objected to war with Hitler.

Pacifism. Pacifism is objectively pro-Fascist. This is elementary common sense. If you hamper the war effort of one side you automatically help that of the other. Nor is there any real way of remaining outside such a war as the present one. In practice, ‘he that is not with me is against me’.

America must combat the forces of jihadi terror abroad, or we will surely combat it on American shores. May God bless the men and women of the United States military who have volunteered to fight that battle on our behalf, and may He frustrate the plans of those who would do harm to them or their mission.

Militant Islam has no chance of conquering America and is essentially, as it applies to America, a defensive movement to push the unwanted presence of America out of its regions. This presence of course enriches the oligarchs but the average American finds no benefit therein.

And Fumento had a record of relentlessly portraying a rosy-colored glass scenario of the status of the Iraq War bearing no resemblance to actual conditions on the ground.

3 With the pro-surrender crowd in charge, jihadi terrorists have the ability to conquer this country quite easily.

I'm sure that Jack Murtha and Cindy Sheehan will support redeployment from LA and NYC after the next terrorist attacks on American soil.

Jihadi terrorists have no Army, Navy or Air Force, and it speaks to the jejune quality of political discourse in this country that one can make the kind of statement you do above and still retain credibility among many who believe they are in any real sense conservative. It also hitns at why we're the dangerous laughing stock of the world.

5 Actually, KKKen, we are a laughing stock because we allow folks like you, who are apologists for the enemy, to remain at large giving them aid and comfort on American soil. You would give them a victory in public opinion that they cannot win on the field of battle.

As your claimed friend Cong.Ron Paul would tell you, can't refer to "aid and comfort" in an illegal, undeclared war...and that applies all the way from Iraq to the egregiously contrived "war on terror."

7 Actually, you are wrong on that, KKKen -- we have had convictions for treason in the past with no declared war.

Nor is the Crusade Against Jihadi Terrroism (of which the Iraq conflict is a part) illegal or unnecessary.

no matter, as long as the US supports Israeli theft of Palestinian land, it's a losing war, ethically and practically as above link shows.

9 I believe I told you to quit posting items from pro-terrorist sources on my site, KKKen.

And as for that land, I believe in the right of the Israelis to keep everything they have conquered -- including the right to do to the Palestinians what the Palestinians claim they wist to do to the Jews, namely "push them into the sea"
