Is It Time To Kill A Couple Yet?

You know, just to make it clear that we are serious about cross-border incursions by the Mexican military? Especially if they are helping to smuggle drugs or illegal aliens.

Men dressed as Mexican Army soldiers, apparent drug suspects and Texas law enforcement officers faced off Monday on the U.S. side of the Rio Grande, an FBI spokeswoman said today.

Andrea Simmons, an agency spokeswoman in El Paso, told The Associated Press that Texas Department of Public Safety troopers chased three SUVs, believing they were carrying drugs, to the banks of the Rio Grande during Monday's incident.

Men dressed in Mexican military uniforms or camouflage were on the U.S. side of the border in Texas, she said.

Simmons said the FBI was not involved and referred requests for further details to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

The Inland Valley Daily Bulletin of Ontario, Calif., reported today that the incident included an armed standoff involving the Mexican military, suspected drug smugglers and nearly 30 U.S. law enforcement officers. It said Mexican military Humvees were towing what appeared to be thousands of pounds of marijuana across the border into the United States.

The incident follows a story in the Bulletin on Jan. 15 that said the Mexican military had crossed into the United States more than 200 times since 1996.
Chief Deputy Mike Doyal of the Hudspeth County Sheriff's Department told the newspaper that Border Patrol agents called for backup and were joined by Hudspeth County deputies and DPS troopers. Mexican army personnel had several mounted machine guns on the ground more than 200 yards inside the U.S. border, the newspaper said.

Doyal said deputies captured a Cadillac Escalade that had been reported stolen from El Paso, and found 1,477 pounds of marijuana inside. He said Mexican soldiers set fire to one of the Humvees stuck in the river.

The site is near Neely's Crossing, about 50 miles east of El Paso, it said.

Why no shooting in this situation (or any of the other 200+ incidents)?

"It's been so bred into everyone not to start an international incident with Mexico that it's been going on for years," Doyal said. "When you're up against mounted machine guns, what can you do? Who wants to pull the trigger first? Certainly not us."

The border in this area is clearly marked – it is called the Rio Grande – and such crossings are frequent. They are denied by the Mexican government.

It is time for the US to make this a shooting war. It might be the only thing that will get the attention of the Mexican authorities and make them realize that the US is serious about border security.

If we really are serious about border security.

1 It WAS a shooting war until PCness took over...

The Border Patrol has been engaged in their own little war down there for years...

For some reason, GWB is just sitting on this one, and that has a great many GWB fans somewhat troubled... It's been my only real gripe with the man...

Living in Texas, and having lived in El Paso for 9 years I can tell you, it's a real threat and we SHOULD place troops all up and down the border, from Brownsville to Chula Vista... This is exactly the kind of operation our National Guard is trained for and in using the Guard on STATE ORDERS, no one can complain about violations of Posse Comitatus...

The Border Patrol, while a wonderful and extremely hard working agency, can't do it all, they need MASSIVE help, they are understaffed and under equipped...

And there are MANY citizens that would have no compunctions about taking up arms and defending the border, I am one of them...

Yeah, it's time, kick assets and take names...

2 There was a simular incident in November in the same County. We need to get some heavy duty weaponry in there along with the manpower. Neither Bush nor Perry seemed to be be willing to do anything.

3 I'd LOVE for us to ventilate those bastards.

I wonder which military would win if we got in a fight.

4 I have no problem with "ventilating" Mexican military personel who cross the border. We need to be careful, though. My first reaction is to just F***ing invade, but these are most likely soldiers acting on their own or drug smugglers impersonating soldiers. Take care of the individuals, put soldiers on the border if necessary, but let's not get into needless antagonism with the Mexican government. Sure we could obliterate them, but what good would it do us?

5 Our problem is more than border-jumpers. The mind-set in Washington must change. I should say, "The mind-set in Washington must BE changed." Once the borders are sealed and defended, I suggest this process be implemented :
Between 4,000,000 and 8,000,000 wetbacks are living here. I do NOT demean the decent, law-abiding Mexicans who got here legally. But look back at those numbers; there are approximately 4,000,000 illegals we can't even count with any accuracy. FOUR-MILLION! ! Our government has lost control of them! ! But their native-country-men, abiding here in lawfulness and peace, have NOT lost track of them, and these citizens are our strongest ally and weapon in getting control of the situation. It works simply. Who was that Okie Sheriff who put jailed his worst convicts out in the desert, with tents, water, and white-bread sandwiches......Anyway, that is a good place to corral all illegals to such an area. No TV, no phones, no visits (well, the visits are allowed, because these might be other illegals we missed picking up.) At the same time that this round-up of illegals is going on, the U.S. MUST seal the South border to ALL immigration. This is a temporary measure. Viz: when we have a thousand illegals captured and sent back home, a fresh 1,000 LEGALS can come in. When the decent Mexican folk see who is causing them this problem, our border-invasion-problem will be fixed. Will it work ?? AK47MAN
