'Ya just gotta laugh

After President Bush briefed reporters about Hurricane Rita, a reporter asks him "Sir, what good can you do going down to the hurricane zone? Might you get in the way?"

After a sensible response, another reporter (maybe the same one) yells "Well, critics are saying this is an overcompensation for the response to Katrina."

Just. Can't. Win.

1 Say What? Are you saying that he handled it right the first time - Katrina? You seem to be saying he is being blamed for ingnoring New Orleans, and then being blamed for paying attention to Texas. And that somehow this is unfair. It's like:"Hey, I only shot my mother, I could have shot my father but I didn't. So what are you blaming me for?" Just cause he is trying to do the right thing now, does not make his doing the wrong thing last time acceptable.

2 Yeah, you can't win with those Liberals even if you do the right thing. What many of them see is just pure hate.

3 bustard: are you purposely being obtuse? Go back and read the post again (and link). The reporter (it was David Gregory) is blaming him for paying attention to Texas!
