Was Plame Already A "Blown Agent"

According to Bill Gertz, Plame's cover was blown twice -- by the CIA itself.

Mrs. Plame's identity as an undercover CIA officer was first disclosed to Russia in the mid-1990s by a Moscow spy, said officials who spoke on the condition of anonymity.

In a second compromise, officials said a more recent inadvertent disclosure resulted in references to Mrs. Plame in confidential documents sent by the CIA to the U.S. Interests Section of the Swiss Embassy in Havana.

The documents were supposed to be sealed from the Cuban government, but intelligence officials said the Cubans read the classified material and learned the secrets contained in them, the officials said.

Having twice had her identity revealed BY HER OWN EMPLOYER, it is impossible to claim that Plame's identity was being kept covert by the CIA -- especially given her "drive through the front gate every day" job at CIA headquarters in Langley.

1 A former CIA agent that worked with Valerie Plame explained that she was known by many of her friends to be working for the CIA. Many reporters and others have said it was common knowledge in D.C. that Plame worked for the CIA. One person said that they were at a party where Plame openly admitted that she worked for the CIA.

Rove "outed" Plame? Please, don't make me laugh you desperate Loony Liberals you.

Now, how can you out someone, when many people already knew that she worked for the CIA? Like I said, the CIA outed her at the very beginning when they assigned her with an overt desk job.

2 My chief concern with this isn't her exposure, but the flip-flop of Bush.

3 On the other hand, if there was no illegal activity and no leaking of the information (Rove didn't supply the name), is it really a flip-flop?

4 flip-flop? If you want to get somebody who really outed a covert CIA agent ask John Kerry who outed "Mr.Smith" on the Senate floor this year. Why is he still a senator?
