If I Wuz President...

There's a new meme going around, courtesy of Say Uncle. I hope everybody will play along.

Oddball thought experiment:

By some bizarre set of circumstances, you are the president as of now. Name the first 5 things youÂ’d do. Level of difficulty: it must actually be stuff the president is constitutionally allowed to do.

Please note where I added emphasis -- some answers I've seen ignore this one.

1) Address a joint session of Congress and demand the following constitutional amendments:
A) National initiative and referendum.
B) Requirement that any ruling that a law is unconstitutional be affirmed by 3/4 of the Supreme Court -- and that a resolution by a 2/3 majority of both houses of Congress and signed by the president shall be sufficient to overturn such a ruling.
C) Alter the 14th Amendment to end birthright citizenship for the children of illegal aliens and non-immigrant foreigners.
D) Repeal the amendment granting Washington D.C. electoral votes, mandating instead that the city be included as a part of Maryland for presidential, senatorial, and congressional voting, because it started out as a part of Maryland -- and affirming the city's home rule status.
E) Federal Marriage Amendment

2) Overturn "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" -- replacing it with "Don't Ask, Don't Give A Damn" -- permitting homosexuals in the military.

3) Appoint Condi Rice Vice President, and Michelle Malkin Head of ICE,. Fire Mineta.

4) Mandate that all federal officials travelling coach be subject to the highest level of srutiny in airports -- and that all federal officials travel coach.

5) Strictly enforce all immigration laws.

Come on folks, join in the fun. What would you do?

2 Unfortunately you can't permit homosexuals in the military. That is part of the Uniform Code of Military Justice, the military's equivalent to Federal Code. Only Congress can change that. You can, however, direct your DoD leadership not to pursue such cases.

3 And that is precisely how it would be handled.

I might also note that my next acts would be

6) Personally begin the dismantling of the statue of lincoln and sand-blasting of his words from the Lincoln Memorial -- the man raped the Constitution. After appropriate renovations, the building will be known as the Reagan memorial.

7) Order the removal of the roadblocks on Pennsyklvania Avenue in front of the White House.

4 1. Abolish the executive level departments that are not Constitutionally prescribed (e.g. no Department of Energy, no Department of Education, no EPA, etc.). In the event that I could NOT abolish these departments, what I would do instead is fire everyone but one person and have them build toothpick houses.

2. Begin the restoration of state level power, by correctly phrasing my sentences as follows (when appropriate): 'The United States are...' That would be the first step in making others realize that the states are Constitutionally the real powerhouses (as far as government goes).

3. Press congress to repeal the 1986 gun ban. Essentially, I'd be the JPFO's bitch on this issue.

4. Speak openly and honestly about corruption. Point fingers at any who abuse their office, their power, or their budget. I'd fire the ones that worked for me.

5. Put the army on the border. We are being invaded. We are only supposed to have an army during time of war. If that POS Vicente Fox thinks he's not declared an invasion by publishing that book, he's high.
